| Jeff Hoogesteger - Chief Executive Abellio Group | |
 | On January 1 2012, Jeff Hoogesteger was appointed as Chief Executive of Abellio Group. He was previously Corporate Development Director Europe at Netherlands Railways (NS), where he prepared for his new role as part of Abellio’s succession strategy. Jeff is a member of the NS Group Council. Jeff has joined Abellio at a time when significant opportunities are available to increase the Group’s presence in its existing European public transport markets and enter new countries. He brings over 25 years’ experience of leading and growing international companies, including managing mergers, acquisitions and integration of businesses globally. Jeff started his career in 1985 as co-founder of a group of transport and logistics companies which he grew into a global operation. After selling the business, he joined leading parcel delivery group TNT in 2001, working in senior executive and Board functions around the world, latterly as chief executive of the TNT Freight Management division. He was retained as chief executive when TNT Freight Management was acquired by French logistics and transport group SNCF Geodis in 2006 and rebranded as Geodis Wilson. Over the next three years, Jeff served as a Board member and grew Geodis Wilson turnover from €800m to €2.5bn with operations in 54 countries. Throughout his career, Jeff has built a reputation for his ability to understand clients’ needs and integrate them into successful business strategies. He is also known for his belief that active involvement in community projects should be a fundamental part of his companies’ approach to corporate responsibility. |
